Whilst training classes are a good place to teach your dog good manners and obedience, they are not the place to address more complex problem behaviours. It is crucially important to understand the dog’s body language and how they learn.
We need to have an understanding of why the unwanted behaviour is happening before we can put help and support in place for the dog.
The only way of changing behaviour in an ethical way is to work within the learning capacity of the dog. Taking time to build confidence and changing their emotional response, and therefore their behaviour.
Common problems that I can help with include
- Dog to dog reactivity
- Dog to human reactivity
- Separation anxiety and related issues
- Destructiveness
- Excessive barking
- Noise phobias
- Compulsive disorders
- Resource guarding
The consultation can take place at your home or at the training venue, depending on which would best suit the needs of the dog.
The initial meeting would last for 2 hours although follow up sessions can be shorter. I will take a thorough case history and give practical advice on how to start addressing and dealing with the behaviour. There will also be written notes to refer to on the content of our meeting.
I will require a vet health check for your dog before we meet to rule out any physical issues which could be causing the problem behaviour.
This service is tailored to each individual client and the number of required sessions will vary.

Testimonial
Our Tibetan developed resource guarding from 4 months old and his play-biting had developed onto a different level particularly with my husband to the extent that family life was becoming extremely stressful. Carol spent 2 hours at our home watching video footage taken and then helping us to understand what was happening.
She was able to give us strategies to help us with the situation and I can honestly say that following her advice to the letter, life improved dramatically both for us and our Tibetan so we will always be eternally grateful to her.
